804 Stone - Tonne bag 0.614m³

804 stone is the go-to sub-base for almost any hard landscaping or construction job. A well-graded crushed limestone running from fine dust up to 40 millimetres, it compacts down into a tough, stable, free-draining foundation that won't shift once it's laid.

Ideal for:

• Sub-base under driveways, patios, paths and garden sheds
• Foundations and footings
• Yard and road bases
• Backfill around drainage and pipework
• A solid bed under tarmac, paving slabs or concrete

Why it works: The mix of particle sizes is the whole point — the fines fill the gaps between the larger stones, so when you compact it with a plate compactor it locks together into a hard, level surface that carries weight and drains well.

How to lay it: Spread in layers of roughly 100 millimetres, level it off, and compact each layer with a plate compactor before adding the next. Lightly dampening the stone helps it bind as it goes down.
